On the wild Atlantic edge of Namibia lies Lüderitz Bucht — a dramatic coastal town shaped by desert winds, diamond history, and one of Africa's most profound colonial legacies. This is where the Namib Desert meets the ocean in one of the continent's most surreal and historically significant landscapes.
En route south, the journey passes through Aus — home to the legendary wild horses of the Namib Desert, a herd of feral horses that have survived extreme heat, drought, and desert conditions for over 100 years. The Garub waterhole is one of the world's finest locations to photograph wild horses against a desert landscape.
