Bois Cheri Tea Estate is the oldest tea plantation in Mauritius — established in 1892 — producing some of the finest teas in the Indian Ocean. The estate sits at 550 metres above sea level, surrounded by mist and mountain views, with a museum, factory tour, and tea tasting that tells the story of Mauritius's agricultural heritage.
Black River Gorges National Park is Mauritius's last great wilderness — 23,000 hectares of native forest, endemic birds, and dramatic gorge landscapes. The Mauritius kestrel — once the world's rarest bird, reduced to just 4 individuals in 1974 — was brought back from the brink here in one of conservation's greatest success stories.
