Every day of this expedition begins at the water's edge — and on most days, you are on it. St Vincent and the Grenadines is the Caribbean's definitive yacht water destination: a chain of 32 islands and cays stretching south from the volcanic mainland of St Vincent toward Grenada, each one accessible only by sea.
Daylite Digital is an accommodation curator. We secure your hotels and guesthouse stays across this entire SVG circuit — that is what your package price covers. All sailing charters, activity fees, transfers, and meals are arranged independently by the traveller and paid directly to local operators. The Daylite Ambassador is an optional service, available separately.
The Garifuna — also known as the Black Caribs — are the descendants of Arawak, Carib, and West African people who merged on the island of St Vincent over centuries of resistance, survival, and cultural fusion. St Vincent is the ancestral homeland of the Garifuna: it was here that they held out against British colonial forces longer than any other Caribbean people, and it was from here that they were forcibly exiled to Central America in 1797 — a diaspora that now spans Belize, Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua.
The Garifuna relationship with water is foundational. Their dugout canoes — dories — were built for open-ocean crossings. Their fishing traditions, their music, their food, and their spiritual practice are all oriented toward the sea. The Garifuna language, music, and dance were declared a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2001. On St Vincent, Garifuna heritage is alive in the communities of Sandy Bay and Owia on the island's northeastern coast.
To sail the Grenadines is to move through water that the Garifuna have always known. The sea here is not a backdrop — it is the story. All cultural experiences are arranged independently and paid to local operators at point of service.
SVG's water personality is yacht water — the wind-driven, sail-between-islands, anchor-in-a-cove experience that defines the Eastern Caribbean sailing circuit. The Tobago Cays Marine Park is one of the finest snorkel sites in the Atlantic. Mustique is a private island accessible only by sea or small aircraft. La Soufrière is an active stratovolcano whose crater lake sits at 1,234 metres above the Caribbean Sea. All experiences below are paid directly to local operators at point of service.
